CEOS Instrument: PCW Meteorological Payload (1 on each PCW S/C)

Instrument:PCWMP
Agency: CSA
Missions: PCW-1
 PCW-2
Status:Proposed
Type:Multi-purpose imaging Vis/IR radiometer
Description:Continuous high-temporal resolution measurements of atmospheric properties over the Arctic. Associated observations, using additional instruments include in situ space weather and also broadband radiometry of Earth.
Spatial Resolution: Band dependent, varies from 0.5 km GSD (goal) for some of the VNIR bands to 2 km GSD for TIR bands.
Swath Width: Field of Regard for each full acquisition is the entire Earth disc
Wavebands: Multiple bands, non-continuous, from 0.45 ?m to 14.5 ?m
Technology: Multi-purpose imaging Vis/IR radiometer
Description: Instrument designed to address more objectives by appropriate blending of the characteristics of spectral coverage and resolution, spatial resolution, radiometric accuracy, etc.. Spectral coverage in bands of Vis, NIR, SWIR, MWIR and TIR (0.4-15 Ám). Number of channels from a few to a few tens, separated by dichroics and filters. Channel bandwidths around 10 %. Spatial resolution typically 30m-3 km. Applicable in LEO and GEO.
